Haul| Beauty Randoms

Afternoon!

Last week Thursday I had the immense pleasure of watching Thor: The Dark world with my brother! I whole-heartedly thought it wasn't going to be as good as it was. I didn't particularly like the first Thor movie because I thought it was a bit...sappy, just my opinion. But after seeing Loki and Thor fight side by side and Loki faking his death...I died and fell in love with Tom Hiddelston *laughs* Today I have a mini haul consisting of the beauty products that I have tried in the month of November! There aren't many (only three to be exact) and I'm only fond of two of the three products that I tried. I hope you enjoy reading this post!

I was in search of a good cuticle treatment for my dried out cuticles. I went lurking on Google for a few reviews and stumbled upon this beauty! I won't say this is the best cuticle cream that's out there because initially I didn't find much difference in my cuticles. After I applied it, it would be moisturised naturally but the minute my hands touched water, my cuticles went back to awful! After a few applications and trying it out for two weeks there is a noticeable difference in the condition of my cuticles. My cuticles are now more moisturised, but this product doesn't blow me away with the wind. It has a peach smell that reminds me of the fragrance of cheap perfume...I hate the smell, but overall the product is worth a try for anyone that is on a budget like me.

::Before Application::

::After Application::

This is the first time that I've heard of an in-shower moisturiser. This is of course a sample that I got in a magazine I purchased. I don't lean towards Nivea products because I hate the smell of their products, it's unappealing. So I was hesitant to try this, but to my surprise it exceeded my expectations! The in-shower moisturiser applies like your normal moisturising lotion, what this product aims at is halving the time you spend in the bathroom, in my opinion. By not having to apply moisturising lotion on afterwards when you step out of the shower cuts time and I hate having to apply moisturising lotion on afterwards, I find it tedious. So when I read that this was an in-shower moisturiser I jumped at the idea. I pretty much jump at the idea of any in-shower beauty product to be honest! Upon application, it's a bit slimy, which I wasn't too pleased about, but hey, it is an in-shower moisturiser after all. It absorbs extremely quickly into the skin which I love! The water on your skin facilitates that. There is a faint smell of the characteristic Nivea smell after application, but nothing to overwhelming. It leaves your skin feeling silky smooth, I was actually amazed, because some moisturisers don't give me that "soft as a babies skin" effect any more. I actually purchased a bigger bottle of this because I loved it so much, so all in all worth a try!

The let down of all the products I purchased! I don't know what it is about Labello's formula, but it dries my lips out so much it feels like I'm wearing a tight mask over my lips. Any Labello product I've ever purchased has left me with dry, tight skin on my lips, it's awful. Don't ask me why I purchased this, knowing all too well what Labello does to my lips. Oh wait, it was the pretty packaging, right! I think people with magical skin on their lips can use Labello's products but I certainly can't, it's like my lips are allergic to their products, oh well, definitely not a re-purchase.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and till we meet again!

Nail Art| Metallic Snow

Wednesday, 27 November 2013  at 1:36 pm
Afternoon!

I promise this will be the last time I upload a gradient, I'm sure everyone is tired of seeing gradients now *laughs* I've had so much fun mixing and matching colours, that I decided to try a light blue fading into metallic gorgeousness! It looked much better in real life, and the pictures do not do it justice! I hope you enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this post and until we meet again!

Nail Art| Scratch Patch

Evening Lovelies!

I can't believe the Christmas decorations are out and unpacked on the shelves already! Literally, it feels just like yesterday to me, when I was a first year! I say this almost every year, but I do in a way miss my first year of uni, I met so many new and interesting people. Heavens! I fell in love in first year! The only thing that third year has taught me, was who my true friends are and who I want to keep in my life and how I want to be treated and respected. For a change I'm not excited for Christmas, waiting for my results to be published and whether or not I'll be accepted for honours next year is eating at every nerve in my body! But I have a back up plan in case things don't turn in my favour, I can only hope for the best from this point onwards!

Today I decided to do a really quick and easy nail art design. I thought it was so cute because all you do is paint on squares onto your nail and add lines to make them look like little patches of fabric! I hope you enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this post and until we meet again!

Nail Art| Light Blue to Royal Blue Gradient

Monday, 18 November 2013  at 8:05 pm
Evening Lovelies!

It's now safe to say that my new favourite movie is "The Great Gatsby!" I knew I would love it, but not to this extent. The way Gatsby adores and looks at Daisie with such admiration and love, I'd love to find a guy that looks at me like that *laughs!* I have still to watch "The Great Gatsby" with Robert Redford as Gatsby, can't wait!

I decided to do a "royal blue to light blue gradient", gradients are such fun, because you can mix and match any colour of choice and it'll look good!

I hope you enjoyed the post!

Review| Olive Oil Products

Saturday, 16 November 2013  at 6:32 pm
Evening Lovelies!

I'm SO excited! I'm finally after much deliberation going to watch "The Great Gatsby" you might think I would have learnt it during my younger school years, but, nope I didn't. I learnt the wonders of Shakespeare instead. Not that I'm complaining, I loved "A Midsummer Nights Dream"! So, today's post is going to focus on that beautiful green fruit that I hate eating, olives! Since it's Summer down here in the South, I've been suffering from dry patchy skin. No one loves dry patchy skin! So of course I turned to the internet to aid me in my need! Amongst the hoards of "drink more water!" suggestions, using olive oil products stood out for me the most. Olive oil products stood out for me in particular because apparently it is similar in chemical structure to our skin. You always want skin products that mimic the pH and environmental conditions of your skin, so that it doesn't disturb the natural equilibrium of your skin. Another factor that made me turn to olive oil products were the anti-oxidants that it contains. It contains anti-oxidants such as vitamin A and E. Vitamin E especially aids in the anti-ageing properties of olive oil products. In no way am I claiming that the products I've chosen contain all these goodies, I just picked them up because I wanted more olive oil products in my life to help alleviate my patchy dry skin problem *eek!*

"Palmers olive butter body lotion" definitely didn't disappoint me. I knew because it's made from extra virgin olive oil it'll have extra moisturising properties because, high quality olive oil contains acids such as linoleic acid and palmitic acid. These acids aid in trapping moisture and water in the skin, so you don't dry out like a prune! Usually my legs are the first to be sacrificed under the sun's rays, but when I applied the olive butter they managed to stay moisturised and nourished. The only thing that I have a gripe about is the fragrance of this product. Of course I know it's made out of olives and it has the smell of olives, I just don't prefer smelling like one. But if you don't mind a hint of olive smell on your body, this body butter is definitely worth a try.

Of course I had to pick up a hand-cream too, because "pssht" I can't use body butter on my hands *sarcasm* I initially tried putting a drop of olive oil onto my cuticles to prevent them from drying out, but that didn't work. So, I picked up a hand and nail lotion with olive oil like properties in them. I won't say that this blew me away simply because I didn't feel any significant improvement on my cuticles or on my skin. I do love however, that it doesn't leave a greasy film behind on your skin, but not worth buying again.

And finally a body wash, with of course olives in it! This definitely showed the most significant changes on my skin. After washing with it, I didn't have to apply moisturising lotion on afterwards because my skin felt moisturised after I stepped out of the shower, so I'll definitely be picking this again! Just as a side-note, I bought the last two products at store that sells home furniture so I doubt anyone will be able to find these products again. I just want to make the beneficial properties of olive oil known to all you lovely readers! So whenever you're feeling your skin just that little extra bit of moisture try something with olive oil in it, you won't be disappointed!

Till we meet again!
Bye Bye!

Swatch| Black & Sparkles

Monday, 11 November 2013  at 12:06 pm
Afternoon Lovelies!

I bought this black nail-polish with bits of sparkles in it at Accesorize, for some reason there isn't a name for this polish. So we'll call it "Black & Sparkles" inventive isn't it? *sarcasm*

I overlayed Ciates "Confetti" #86 because I wanted more sparkle!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Evening Lovelies!

I know I haven't been updating for a whiiiile! So to kick start (in other words to get me in the swing of posting again) I'll give a quickie of an update of what's been going on here in the South!

It's Summer! (oh boy, time to start smelling like a pig again and drown in a pool of your own sweat)
Exams have ended and my Bioinformatics exam went like sh*t
I'm done with my final year of uni *yay* (honours board, please accept me for honours next year!)
I have plans to get another piercing (keke)
I recently went to a car expo and said I was in the 13-16 year old age category to get a cheaper ticket (kekeke)
Nothing's actually been happening the entire time I've been MIA so if you've read until the end I love you!

And! Happy Movember! My step grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer two years ago, thankfully he's doing better now. Fully fledged supporter of Movember!

Till we meet again!
Bye Bye!
