Fashion Haul| Forever New & the likes

Sunday, 22 December 2013  at 10:43 pm
Evening!
I've just finished stuffing and folding about close to a 100 samosa's with the mum! It was fun indeed, trying to create a perfect triangle is challenging and a game in itself *laughs*What I'm craving while I'm down here in my home-town is a lip tar. I've always wanted to try them and when I found them at TopShop I should have bought one. But now they've been taken off the shelves and replaced with TopShop's lip crayon. I hope you enjoy today's fashion haul and the items I picked out!

Till the next post!
Bye Bye!

Nail Art| Christmas Edition Part IV

Thursday, 19 December 2013  at 2:40 pm
Afternoon!

There are only six more days till Christmas! With that being said I have the last edition to my "Christmas Nail Art Edition!" I used Rimmel's "Yes sir, Yes sir!" which is in my opinion the best aubergine purple I have ever seen! Today's Christmas nail art reminds me of the glamorous Great Gatsby days! It's a bit reminiscent of the glitz and glamour of those days because of the accent glittery nail. I hope you enjoy!

"A little party never killed nobody" A track from the Great Gatsby when Gatsby throws one of his many glitz parties!

Till the next post!
Bye Bye!

Nail Art| Christmas Edition Part III

Tuesday, 17 December 2013  at 7:39 pm
Afternoon!

I'm finally in my home-town again, after two days of driving and immense exhaustion! Finally, this time we soaked up the scenery around us, because my brother drove *laughs* (he drives slow). Unfortunately, my family and I were met with bad news the day we arrived. Which completely took us by surprise. All I'll be saying is, I have to attend a funeral this Saturday. I read somewhere that, it only takes a day to fall in love, only a day to change your life and only a day in which your life can be taken away from you. I'm reminded everyday of how precious life is and that death takes a loved one away so suddenly, you're never prepared for it. I hope everyone is enjoying their festive holidays so far, for whoever is on holiday already! And be safe over the holidays! I hope you enjoy today's post!

I used Essence "Grey-t to be here" as a base coat, I love the slight shimmer that it has to it! And Charlie's "Sugar Baby" as the snowflakes falling onto the bed of snow at the bottom of my nails.

Till the next post!
Bye Bye!

Nail Art| Christmas Edition Part II

Friday, 13 December 2013  at 5:16 pm
Afternoon!

I am getting ready for a road-trip with the family! We haven't driven down to our home-town in quite sometime because the last time we drove down, I had to be rushed to hospital! Hopefully that won't be happening again! It takes us 2 days to drive down and trust me, it's not fun. It would be fun if we stopped along the way and really take in and breath in the scenery around us, but that never happens. Oh well. I hope you enjoy today's post!

I used Charlie's "Red Lights #010" which I now find to be the perfect shade of Christmassy red!
And for the mock glitter Christmas tree's on my nails I used Essence "Hello Holo #03"

Till we meet again!
Bye Bye!

Nail Art| Pointed Nails

Tuesday, 10 December 2013  at 5:13 pm
Afternoon!

Oh boy, today has to be one of the most stressful days of my life by far! I read yesterday online that my results were going to be released today. I honestly thought I was going to fail because my physiology mark was so low that I had to go for a viva (an oral exam). To my absolute joy when I checked my marks online this morning, I'm finally done with my last year in uni and now a fully fledged biochemist! I'm so happy!! Happy doesn't even begin to explain how ecstatic I am and overjoyed! 2013 began on a low note and ended on a high, I'm so happy! All that awaits for me now, is to get accepted into one of the two honours programs that I am on a waiting list for, so hopefully that happens. Fingers crossed!

For a while I was into acrylic nails and how pretty they looked. Unfortunately, they completely destroyed my nails, my nails are thin and the nail plate is basically banged up by the nail file I used to file off the acrylic nail. A note to anyone who tries to remove acrylic nails faster, do not use a nail file to remove it faster! My nails are on a break forever from acrylic nails and now I'm waiting for them to grow out to their healthy selves again. The highlight of today's mani are pointed tips and the gradient effect. I hope you enjoy this post!

I hope you enjoyed this post and until we meet again!

Nail Art| Christmas Edition Part I

Friday, 6 December 2013  at 10:14 am
Afternoon!

Yesterday my mum and I decided to watch "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" the movie was absolutely riveting and amazing! Idris Elba portrayed Mr. Nelson Mandela amazingly well, he really created the atmosphere and demeanour of Mr. Nelson Mandela well. Naomie Harris who played Winnie Mandela (Nelson Mandela's wife) portrayed the fighting spirit and determination of Winnie Mandela spot on. I never realised that Winnie Mandela was such a fighter and had a fierce spirit within her, until I had watched the movie. In some way, although I wasn't exposed to Apartheid at all, the movie is able to capture the tension and atmosphere of the environment extremely well. I was born in 1992 and had the privilege of being apart of the free generation. I never experienced the effects of apartheid of which I am immensely thankful of. When I see what oppression was like...it's mind blowing and I'm glad that we're now a nation that embraces every culture. It was ironic that we decided to watch "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" yesterday and Mr. Nelson Mandela died yesterday. He gave his entire life to South Africa and was the only person in South Africa that I knew of who possessed a great amount of humility and forgiveness towards others. Of course I'm sad, but I feel that although his life was sad and filled with hardships, what he fought for became a reality and he didn't die in vein.

Mr. Nelson Mandela, our former president rest in peace.

Wednesday, 4 December 2013  at 6:10 pm
Afternoon!

And Happy December!

In celebration of December and Christmas, I'll share my Christmas wishlist as I do every year *smiles* This time around my Christmas wishlist isn't excessively long but it is some what expensive. I hope you enjoy this post and I'd love to know what you have on your wishlist this year!

::Christmas Wishlist::

I'm honestly just a bit tired of using at least five books to prop up my camera on my bed *laughs* I really need a tripod stand!

The Iphone 5s and c have just arrived here in the South, well the area in which I live, it's just arrived. Yay! I've been saying this year in and year out that I'm ready to jump on the "Apple" bandwagon, I'm ready! Sorry Android, I'm a traitor.

The lens says it all, I want the awesome bokeh and faded background, want, want, want!

Last but not least, tying in with my dream to travel, I wish that either next year Christmas or the following year I'll travel to a country and have a white Christmas!

I hope you enjoyed this post and till we meet again!
Bye Bye!

Haul| Beauty Randoms

Saturday, 30 November 2013  at 5:53 pm
Afternoon!

Last week Thursday I had the immense pleasure of watching Thor: The Dark world with my brother! I whole-heartedly thought it wasn't going to be as good as it was. I didn't particularly like the first Thor movie because I thought it was a bit...sappy, just my opinion. But after seeing Loki and Thor fight side by side and Loki faking his death...I died and fell in love with Tom Hiddelston *laughs* Today I have a mini haul consisting of the beauty products that I have tried in the month of November! There aren't many (only three to be exact) and I'm only fond of two of the three products that I tried. I hope you enjoy reading this post!

I was in search of a good cuticle treatment for my dried out cuticles. I went lurking on Google for a few reviews and stumbled upon this beauty! I won't say this is the best cuticle cream that's out there because initially I didn't find much difference in my cuticles. After I applied it, it would be moisturised naturally but the minute my hands touched water, my cuticles went back to awful! After a few applications and trying it out for two weeks there is a noticeable difference in the condition of my cuticles. My cuticles are now more moisturised, but this product doesn't blow me away with the wind. It has a peach smell that reminds me of the fragrance of cheap perfume...I hate the smell, but overall the product is worth a try for anyone that is on a budget like me.

::Before Application::

::After Application::

This is the first time that I've heard of an in-shower moisturiser. This is of course a sample that I got in a magazine I purchased. I don't lean towards Nivea products because I hate the smell of their products, it's unappealing. So I was hesitant to try this, but to my surprise it exceeded my expectations! The in-shower moisturiser applies like your normal moisturising lotion, what this product aims at is halving the time you spend in the bathroom, in my opinion. By not having to apply moisturising lotion on afterwards when you step out of the shower cuts time and I hate having to apply moisturising lotion on afterwards, I find it tedious. So when I read that this was an in-shower moisturiser I jumped at the idea. I pretty much jump at the idea of any in-shower beauty product to be honest! Upon application, it's a bit slimy, which I wasn't too pleased about, but hey, it is an in-shower moisturiser after all. It absorbs extremely quickly into the skin which I love! The water on your skin facilitates that. There is a faint smell of the characteristic Nivea smell after application, but nothing to overwhelming. It leaves your skin feeling silky smooth, I was actually amazed, because some moisturisers don't give me that "soft as a babies skin" effect any more. I actually purchased a bigger bottle of this because I loved it so much, so all in all worth a try!

The let down of all the products I purchased! I don't know what it is about Labello's formula, but it dries my lips out so much it feels like I'm wearing a tight mask over my lips. Any Labello product I've ever purchased has left me with dry, tight skin on my lips, it's awful. Don't ask me why I purchased this, knowing all too well what Labello does to my lips. Oh wait, it was the pretty packaging, right! I think people with magical skin on their lips can use Labello's products but I certainly can't, it's like my lips are allergic to their products, oh well, definitely not a re-purchase.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and till we meet again!
Bye Bye!

Nail Art| Metallic Snow

Wednesday, 27 November 2013  at 1:36 pm
Afternoon!

I promise this will be the last time I upload a gradient, I'm sure everyone is tired of seeing gradients now *laughs* I've had so much fun mixing and matching colours, that I decided to try a light blue fading into metallic gorgeousness! It looked much better in real life, and the pictures do not do it justice! I hope you enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this post and until we meet again!

Nail Art| Scratch Patch

Saturday, 23 November 2013  at 6:33 pm
Evening Lovelies!

I can't believe the Christmas decorations are out and unpacked on the shelves already! Literally, it feels just like yesterday to me, when I was a first year! I say this almost every year, but I do in a way miss my first year of uni, I met so many new and interesting people. Heavens! I fell in love in first year! The only thing that third year has taught me, was who my true friends are and who I want to keep in my life and how I want to be treated and respected. For a change I'm not excited for Christmas, waiting for my results to be published and whether or not I'll be accepted for honours next year is eating at every nerve in my body! But I have a back up plan in case things don't turn in my favour, I can only hope for the best from this point onwards!

Today I decided to do a really quick and easy nail art design. I thought it was so cute because all you do is paint on squares onto your nail and add lines to make them look like little patches of fabric! I hope you enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this post and until we meet again!

Nail Art| Light Blue to Royal Blue Gradient

Monday, 18 November 2013  at 8:05 pm
Evening Lovelies!

It's now safe to say that my new favourite movie is "The Great Gatsby!" I knew I would love it, but not to this extent. The way Gatsby adores and looks at Daisie with such admiration and love, I'd love to find a guy that looks at me like that *laughs!* I have still to watch "The Great Gatsby" with Robert Redford as Gatsby, can't wait!

I decided to do a "royal blue to light blue gradient", gradients are such fun, because you can mix and match any colour of choice and it'll look good!

I hope you enjoyed the post!
Bye Bye!
