Supplies| Hand Cream & Acrylic Paint

Thursday, 27 June 2013  at 1:33 am
Evening Lovelies!

This is going to be a quick post, because it's one in the morning, I'm in desperate need to wash my hair *laughs* and in need of sleep. I would probably classify what I bought as a mini haul, but I guess they are supplies when you take a look at them. Since it's Winter down here, everything dries out, the air is so dry! My hair is dry, my skin and not to mention my cuticles, luckily they (Clicks) were having a sale on Keratin enriched hand cream and I had to buy it. I'm all on board on the Keratin train, especially since nails are made of Keratin I knew the hand cream would work. On another note, I learned that not all acrylic paint is the same, I'm no artists so honestly I didn't realize while shopping in the kids section of a grocery store that the bottle of white acrylic paint I was to pick up, the consistency was too thick! I struggled on just one nail art design to make the viscous fluid work, but after I just couldn't and decided to head over to a craft store and buy model paint. Definitely the better option! I'm super, super, super excited for the release of the Sims 3 Paradise Island! Can't wait! The only downside? I have to wait till Friday! I thought it would be released on the 25th (Tuesday) but I was mistaken. This country I'm living in is so slow with getting new products *ugh*

 This was such a waste of money, luckily it wasn't pricey.

Model paint! Model paint!

My paintbrushes tend to get damaged very quickly because the acetone eats into the bristles and makes the separate from each other. So I have to keep buying new ones.

I hope everyone has enjoyed this post! And will have a wonderful week ahead!

Swatches| Maybelline Color Show, Essence, Essie, Aura & nail protecting base coats

Sunday, 23 June 2013  at 1:56 am
Evening Lovelies!

I decided to do a few swatches of the nailpolishe purchases that I have made during this past month. I realized that taking a picture of a bottle standing all alone doesn't really show much, in my opinion. The only downside of swatching is the damage it inflicts onto your nails, my nails are already weak and brittle from constant application of nailpolish, knowing this I still sacrificed them *laughs* Although I have given my nails a break from nailpolish (one or two weeks) it doesn't really matter because they're still dry and weak, even after a break. So I had to invest in the most expensive enriched Keratin containing base coat. Luckily my birthday is coming up soon, so it forms part of le birthday present *laughs* But I'd really like to know if anyone has a suggestion on less harsh nailpolish removers please let me know in the comments section below!

::Maybelline Color Show::

"Peach Kiss" is more of a subtle nude pink, that would be great to use as a base-coat for a french manicure but I wear it as is to give my nails a touch of color.

::Essence::

By far...this has to be the worst nail sealer I have tried, after using it my nails were still weak and still flaked a lot. I understand the bottle says it's an anti split nail sealer but it should have some properties to make nails stronger if it's used to prevent nails from splitting.

::Aura::

 "Bunny White" isn't a true white, it's a creamish off color white.

::Essie::

Since it's Winter down here, I was in search for a rich plum nailpolish shade, and Essies "Carry On" quenched my thirst for the perfect plum shade. Plum is perfect for Winter since it accompanies the dark and gloomy weather *bleh*

::Trind [most expensive nail protector I have ever bought]::

I've been applying this nail protector for the past two weeks and I have to say that I've noticed a remarkable change in my nails. I could never grow my nails out long because they'd either flake near the tips or the tips would break. Since using Trind my nails are much stronger, and believe me when I say much I was never able  to grow out my nails long as I mentioned and at a stage my nails were so bad that they'd just tear at any accidental brute force I applied. I don't know where Trind originates from all I know is that it is made in the Netherlands and the best nail protector I have used so far.

I hope this post was informative and the swatches give a better idea of what the nailpolioshes look like!

Afternoon Lovelies!

I know I've been away for a while...but some things have been happening in my personal life, that has been bumming me a bit, but oh well. I've been loads of inspiration from Nail Up! If you don't know what magazine that is, it's a magazine in Japan and has brilliant nail art ideas. I can't really think straight right now to be honest, but I hope you like the post!

Movie| My PS Partner [6 December 2012]

Thursday, 13 June 2013  at 2:20 pm
          Afternoon Lovelies!

I thought it might be fun to show all you lovely people the type of movies that I watch or that have really interested me. Please be assured I am in no way a movie critic and I'm not here to give you a comprehensive three page essay on a movie, I am merely just sharing some thoughts and loads of screen shots of a movie that I happen to like. Now that the formalities are over, I hate it that it always takes me a while to find good movies with a plot, especially if it's a romance movie. I either find that most of the time it revolves around a flimsy plot, of girl meets boy [which is the majority of all of them]. My PS Partner might I add is no different, the only difference is that girl meets boy over phone while dialing what she presumes to be her boyfriends number. I can't exactly explain why I love this movie so much..I just do. Some parts of the movie made me think about my own relationship, that sometimes it just feels that no matter how much you try to please someone they just take you for a fool. What made the movie extra special were the songs that Hyun-Seung and Yoon-Jung sing to each other, "Show me your panties" and "Show me your heart" respectively. If you wanna hear them click here and here.

That being said I do believe that everyone who is interested in romance movies should check it out! I feel that this was the best Korean Romance movie that I've watched in a very long time! Oh, and a side warning there is a bit of nudity that literally adds nothing to the development of the plot, so just skip those parts. Oh, another reason why I love this movie, Ji Sung who plays Hyun-Seung in the movie, nuff said.

Morning Lovelies!

It's almost crunch time for me and I've immersed myself in the world of Totoro *laughs* I can't get enough of Studio Ghibli movies, I love the subtle innuendo's of pure love and innocence! I should never have watched My neighbor Totoro considering I'm writing my last exam soon *cringes*

My brother drew these on my left hand after I attempted the chevron on my right hand.

Haul| Queenspark,Forever New,Jo Borkett & Edgar's

Wednesday, 5 June 2013  at 11:43 am
Morning Lovelies!

I feel like I'm in such a rut with all this studying, thankfully, next week Monday is my last exam! I can't wait to start taking pictures again for more blog posts! I have so many nail designs, nail swatches and beauty products I want to share the minute I go on holiday! So please keep an eye out for that!

::Queenspark::

I don't know what made me decide to buy a mint lace blazer, but I thought it looked super cute. I hardly wear it to be honest *cringes* I need to ban myself from buying things and then I don't wear them. I ended up actually buying another blazer that was grey and had black striping on it, love that one to the max! I just feel that this one is more for dress up time for a special occasion of sorts.

I bought this top in pink too!

 ::Forever New::

 ::Jo Borkett::

 ::Edgar's::

Love the subtle sweet heart neckline on this top.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far!

Nail Art| Chevron

Morning Lovelies!

I tried at my hand at some chevron lines, but I'm finding these past few days that whenever I try to do nail art, I just can't do it. I don't know if it's because my mind is focused on exams, but that's probably the cause. So, in the midst of all the studying, I finally get a week break before I write again, phew! I'm so relieved, hopefully it won't turn into a week of being lazy *laughs* Hope you enjoy this post!

I hope everyone will have a wonderful weekend!
