First attempt at lace

Saturday, 31 March 2012  at 8:36 pm
Evening!

So, I tried my hand at lace nail art(?) I wouldn't really call it lace nail art since you just cut out lace in the form of your nail and place it on wet nail polish. I honestly, have to say, that by far this is the worse look I have ever seen adorn my nails, I really despise it. I tried it because favourite persons sister really liked the look and she wanted me to re-create it on her nails I personally don't like it. But I'll get on with the post and my lovelies can see for themselves.

I realised that the lace design/pattern that I used was too condensed and too busy. I also couldn't put a top coat on because it would soak through the lace and it would look dull and wet, but of course this wouldn't deter me from trying/experimenting until I was satisfied! My second attempt will be uploaded sometime in the week. ^^

Until then.
Bye Bye~

I'm back!

EVENING!!

My lovely, lovely lovelies! How have all of you been? Good I hope! ^^ I didn't update for a while because of block tests and studying and uncontrolled emotions *laughs* Seriously, three majors in uni is a force to be reckoned with. I come with heaps of updates and nail art/nail experimentations! But before I get onto that, remember I said I had to do favourite persons sisters nails for her end of year dance? Well, if I didn't mention it I'm mentioning it now *laughs* her nails looked so good! I wanted to take a picture of the final product but it seemed to have slipped my mind. I'm considering doing all my nail art on her nails, I love her nails! Her nail bed is naturally longer so her nails look longer without even growing out the actual nail, love! So as I said I've been busy with block tests I wrote Scientific practice (which is the chemistry part of my course) on Monday, Physiology on Tuesday and I wrote Concepts (biology part of my course) today. So, my weak was really full! But I do apologize for the lack of updates. I'm on my week long break now...yes you heard right...WEEK long break which is nothing but, eh, I'll be spending it with favourite person so it's all good! ^^
Onto the post!

I had a lab after my test yes...a lab after a test. I was exhausted after but anyway we have to do  these crosses with fruit flies and test for epistasis and the golden Mendelian ratio! I hate genetics, I'm never becoming a geneticist.

This was when my hair was still fairly long I tried the whole day to do a fishtail braid! And when I managed  to get it right and perfect the technique....I cut my hair off *laughs* it's really cute though the fishtail braid I love how it looks.

What I was doing when I was meant to be studying

OFTD I guess? I was trying on the purple cardigan it wasn't in my size I'm not an XS unfortunately * laughs* Woolworths recently had a 25 zar ($3.27) sale! It was on items that were already on sale just marked down further, and everyone knows, when items are going for that cheap your size is never in that sale pile so I eh'd the sale. My mum went at 9 the morning to salvage some bargains here and there *laughs*

Updates will of course be more frequent!
Until the next post my lovelies!

Bye Bye~ ^^

New haircut

Sunday, 18 March 2012  at 9:27 pm
Evening lovelies!

As the title suggests, I finally decided on the spur of the moment please take note of the "spur of the moment" to cut my hair short. I wasn't actually planning on cutting my hair short yesterday but my mum decided to tell the hairdresser lady that I wanted to get my hair cut. My mum wanted my hair cut close to the length of a bob but the women said that I would have to go to another hairdresser to get it cut that short. Eh, so I cut it semi-short! Onto the pictures!

Overall I think the length is just right and much more manageable.

Till the next post!
Bye Bye!

Outfit On Repeat

Saturday, 10 March 2012  at 7:41 pm
Evening my gorgeous lovelies!

How are all of you this rainy evening? Doing well I hope! I'm actually writing my scientific report that I have to hand in on Monday now...scientific reports suck. But, anyway, I had to pick up my medication from the mall today and decided to take a few pictures of my outfit, I apologize for any awkward poses or facial expressions, I've forgotten what it feels like to be stared at while my mum snaps pictures of me *laughs* Has anyone heard Nine Muses Ticket? I absolutely love it! Well I've loved every song they've released so far. I'll upload the video at the end of the post so you can take a look and tell me what are your thoughts on it. But, before I end this section of the post, I need the concerted effort of my lovelies! Favourite person suggested to me that I should cut my hair short, as in the style of a bob. I'm a bit uneasy because I've always had long hair and let's just say I'm not that attached to my hair, but, if I suddenly felt a breeze caress my neck I would feel naked. My long hair is a bit like a safety blanket, it has transformed into that over the years. So, my question to all of you and I'm sure you might already know what it is:
What are your thoughts on short hair? Do you think short hair makes a women less "womanly" and desirable?
I've read in many magazines that men prefer long hair over short hair and that it was found that long hair was a sign of fertility and made a women more desirable. But, those are just superficial magazines. I always believe in doing what you want within constraints of course. I will be cutting my hair short, note the short not a bob just short because I'm tired of my dead ends. I also think that short hair would be a nice change and won't really change my appearance by much because of my layers. When my hair is tied up my layers hang down and create the look of short hair so in a sense the hairstyle that I have now shoots two birds with one stone. I know I have an opinion on already formulated but I need a bit of coaxing and I'd love to hear the thoughts of my lovelies!
Alas! Onto the post!
Yes! Favourite person surprised me with this engraving! And yes that's my real name. He had my name and our anniversary date engraved on his phone. I died when I saw this! I died from cuteness and thoughtfulness and just everything!

Sick

Afternoon lovelies

I'm sorry I've been missing for so long (I don't know how long I've been away for) but my health has once again taken a dive for the worst. I had gastro enteritis last week and I lost so  much water I had to drink electrolytes and everything that I ate just passed out of my system. And now, I suffered a panic attack the muscles in my neck and chest went into spasms and every time I ate or drank something it would hurt so much I can't even describe the pain. It's just so many things in my life have been causing me stress lately, my schedule is so full I hardly have any time to spend with my favourite person. I understand that as you progress further in your academic career the time that you would usually have to yourself is taken away, but I'm finding it hard to adapt. Last year when I was in uni I was able to spend every single day with my favourite person and these days just seeing him is a treat. But, there's nothing I can do about it, besides working hard and getting through this year swiftly. I just feel like I'm the only one handling this lack of free time and not being able to see my favourite person badly. I'm not trying to make it sound like he doesn't miss me, I know he does, it's just the lack of free time is killing me!

Thank you for letting me pour my heart out. Now, on to the actual post, I'll be posting some pictures of what I've been doing these past few weeks.

I tried my hand at baking! I baked these red velvet cupcakes for my favourite person for valentines day, mind you, they didn't taste good but he still ate them *laughs*

Believe it or not but my brother had this shirt when he was 19 years old he's now turning 36! You could say this shirt is kind of a heirloom, he wore it when he was in uni and I'm wearing it now.

My first time at the Medical Campus trying to find my Physiology tutorial class.

The students on medical campus have it ten times better than science students! Their cafeterias are nicer, their staff members are nicer....everyone just seems so much more helpful unlike on the science campus.

My Friday Molecular and Cellular Concepts lab. I hate Friday labs with a passion! We had to do an experiment on e.coli hence the Petri dishes and micro pipettes.

The owl that I drew on my McB file.

A bag my friend bought for me for my birthday when she was in Thailand, she's now studying medicine in China.

The lovely array of medicine that I had to take while my body decided not to keep anything solid in my system.

I had to do nail designs on my own nails to show my favourite persons sister how I could possibly do her nails for her end of year dance.

Excuse the dirty nails, it isn't dirt underneath my nails I swear! It's black nail polish that managed to creep underneath.

Complimentary cam-whoring ensues!

Closer look at the necklace.

If you don't enjoy the sight of blood stop here, cover your eyes and scroll all the way to the bottom. So, in my Physiology lab we had to do a blood practical. We had to determine our hematocrit levels and other things. I didn't pay much attention to the other practicals because I just wanted to find out my blood type *laughs*

My blood had to be put into a saline solution. A saline solution doesn't affect the cells and it thinned out the blood so that the agglutinating factors could agglutinate the blood faster.

As all my lovelies should know I have a bleeding problem, so even though my blood was thinned out it took extremely long for my blood to show signs of agglutination. At first it seemed as if I was AB+, but upon later inspection, I'm actually O+! I was so happy because this is my mothers blood type, but, ironically enough I can't donate blood to anyone even though I'm the perfect donor.

Agglutination in response to the Rhesus factor.

Yum! Yum! Absolutely love this peach juice! And I can ONLY buy it at the Chinese restaurant down the road from my mums school. It costs 10 zar ($1.32).

Changed my cellphone cover to Rilakkuma again!
I'm sorry lovelies for the lack of updates but things in my life right now are a bit hectic and....unpredictable. So, please just bear with me for now.

Till the next post.
Bye Bye~
